Hovig Demirjian is a singer songwriter with Armenian origins born in Cyprus on 3rd of January 1989. From early age it was clear that Hovig has a natural performing ability, making him very lovable during his school years.
At the age of 8 he starts singing lessons. It didnt took him long to win his first award, at the age of 12 at a local competition. At the age of 16, Hovig starts performing in various clubs, making himself noticable in the artistic community of the Island of Cyprus. After dropping out of Marketing studies, Hovig enrolled in jazz music course in the European University of Nicosia.
In 2009 he participated in the greek Xfactor TV show, where he reached the 11th live show. After his participation in the popular tv show, he starts performing in different clubs and stages all over Greece and Cyprus, Lebanon and Russia and releases a numerous singles where for some, he composes the music.
In 2010 and 2015 Hovig tried to represent his country in the Eurovision Song Contest by competing in the national final song selection. Both times he got very close, by reaching to the finals.
2017 is the year CyBC internally selects him to represent Cyprus at the ESC2017. He collaborates with eurovision star composer Thomas G:son on the song “Gravity".
